According to John Kenneth Galbraith,
‘All of the great leaders have had one characteristics in common: it was
the willingness to confront unequivocally the major anxiety of their
people in their time. This and not much else, is the essence of
leadership’. Also, in the words of John Maxwell, ‘ A great leader’s
courage to fulfil his vision comes from passion not position.
These two statements capture the dexterity, zeal, doggedness and dynamism exhibited by the fourth Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike , Professor Hilary Odo Edeoga
in these past two years. Little wonder then, that a peep into his
inaugural speech on Tuesday , March 1, 2011, will not only send shivers
down one’s spine considering the altitude at which this jet which he is
